September 2024 Sector and Index Performance

During the month of September, Grains (+9.12%) and Metals (+5.90%) were the top performers. The only two negative performers were Energy (-0.80%) and S&P GSCI (-0.72%). The Bearish performance in Energy (-0.80%) was led by Reformulated Gas (-7.55%) and Light Sweet Crude (-7.31%).  The bullish performance in the Grains (+9.12%) sector was largely led by Oats (+19.39%) and Corn (+12.17%). Halfway through September, The FOMC lowered rates by 50 basis points resulting in all time highs in the Dow (+1.42%) and the S&P 500 (+1.60%).
