During the month of May, Indices (+5.84%) and Grains (+3.11%) were the top performers. The bottom performers were the S&P GSCI (-9.61%) and Crypto (-7.25%). Strength in Indices was driven by the Nasdaq (+10.18%) and S&P 500 (+4.86%). Grains were lifted by Rough Rice (+16.77%) and Oats (+9.13%). Notable weakness was seen in Livestock (-2.72%), dragged down by Feeder Cattle (-6.78%) and Live Cattle (-3.96%). Energy (-1.96%) was mixed, with Natural Gas surging (+18.90%) while Reformulated Gas (-14.58%) and Heating Oil (-14.52%) declined sharply. Meanwhile, Interest Rates (-0.35%) edged lower in May, led by the 5-Year T-Note (-0.48%) and the 10-Year T-Note (-0.47%).
