During the month of August, Softs (+7.95%) and the S&P 500 Index (+2.28%) were the top performers. The bottom performers were Crypto (-15.41%) and Livestock (-6.37%). The Bearish performance in Livestock (-6.37%) was led by Lean Hogs (-10.90%) and Feeder Cattle (-7.53%). The bullish performance in the Softs (+7.95%) sector was largely led by Cocoa (+19.45%) and Orange Juice (+17.99%). The next FOMC meeting will be September 17th and 18th. While the Fed is expected to lower rates, there is uncertainty surrounding how rapidly interest rates may decline over the remainder of the year.
